After over 17 years of riding each, with 9+ years of teaching to their names, working in 17 schools and 6 competition circuits around the globe, Sukie and Robin opened 514Elemental. With a few set goals:
1. To provide professional quality kite sports lessons.
2. Bring children into the sport.
3. Make well educated, safe kiters.
4. Give others the enjoyment Kite Sports gives them!
Here at 514Elemental, we believe in giving our customers the ultimate kite experience. With the team having over 34 years of kite sport experience between them, you can be sure you’ll be receiving the highest quality of knowledge on the best equipment the industry has to offer.
We are not only a BKSA recognised school, the team hold the highest level qualifications as BKSA (British Kite Sports Association) instructors and coaches. Robin and Sukie have both spent may years on the freestyle competition circuits, so dont fear, knowledge is coming from some of the UK's best riders.
One thing we don’t offer here at 514Elemental is a second rate kitesurfing or land kiting lesson. 514Elemental is the premier kite sports centre for the enthusiastic participant.
514Elemental also know its great to document your best crashes or rides, so whether you're on a land based lesson or a kitesurfing lesson we take photos of your day and upload them to our Facebook page for you to view!
In both our younger years we were both helped massively by elders of our sport and given the oppurtunity by others to enjoy this lifestyle. Over the years we have seen the sport provide endless enjoyment for those with disabilitys, depression, autism and even those who just dont have the cash to pick it up. For us we feel it is our duty to provide special events and clubs to enable others to enjoy the sport just as we do.
Back in 1999 learning Kitesports as children of 10years of age, both of us found difficulties. Struggling to hold a large kite, staying focused for the whole lesson or even just getting gear that fits you. We have ensured that our equipment is tailored to suit all ages. One of our favorite parts of having our own school is we are free to do anything we like, so we have set up a kids club through the summer months to give children under the age of 16 the chance to enjoy kitesports just as we did at that age.
With Sukie pushing kitesports for many years now, being British Landboard (lots of hard crashes to get that good) and British wave champion. She has noticed that there is a distinct difference in the way Women are percieved within Kiting and the numbers of women on the beach. Sukie is going to be running womens advanced kiting clinics as well as Girls only beginner kitesurfing lessons to help build womens kitesports.
When out and about doing Kitesports everyone needs the help of others. Although we can kite alone, when at the beach Kiters tend to hang out together as you never know when you may need someone to help launch or land your kite. This promotes a great vibe at the beach and you are sure to meet a new bunch of friends from variety of roots.
While Kitesports are not only great fun they provide a great form of fitness, depending on your riding style and kitesport. Wether its constantly toning muscles on a relaxed day flying your powerkite on the beach or building strengh and muscle performing the latest freestyle moves on the water, kiting keeps you fit. Not only are you out breathing fresh sea air you will burn between 7 - 14 CALORIES a minute (depending on how intense your session is) thats an average of 600 CAL an hour!
Here at 514Elemental we are blessed to have such a brilliant team of enthusiastic kiteboarders. Kiting is not just work or a hobby its a lifestyle they love.
